Second Cup Cat Café
Second Cup Cat Café is a nonprofit cat lounge created to elevate the adoption experience in Shawnee, Kansas.
Every visit supports our rescue partner, Melissa’s Second Chances, and helps homeless cats find loving homes.
Since opening, over 800 cats have found their forever families through our cozy, stress-free space.
Come sip your favorite drink, meet adoptable cats, and help us make even more happy endings possible.
Visit the Café

Reservations are preferred but not required; walk-ins welcome as space allows.

House Rules & Safety
All guests are asked to sign a brief waiver upon arrival to ensure the safety and comfort of both cats and visitors.To promote a safe and enjoyable space for guests and the kitties, please abide by the following rules:
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
Be kind to our kitties. Use gentle touch and soft voices. Do not chase cats or pull their ears or tails.
Let the cats come to you. Cats are naturally curious and will approach as they feel comfortable. You may pet a sleeping cat, but sleep is important for the kitties so do not wake them.
Keep food and drink away from the cats. Their stomachs are sensitive and people food or drink can make them very ill. Cat treats are available for purchase at the front desk.
Pet cats on their head and upper back, and remember most cats will claw/scratch if you touch their stomach area.
Be aware when entering or exiting the café. Cats are quick and sneaky!
We reserve the right to ask you to leave if your behavior is deemed harmful to the cats. No refunds will be offered in this case.
